pockept
Keep it in your pocket.
What a year of food delivery costs you.
And what you could keep.
Three questions. Your answers never leave your phone.
Pockept is an app that puts a screen in front of your delivery apps. Work out your number first, and it will show you what it would say.
So what does Pockept do about it?
It puts one screen in front of Uber Eats, Glovo and Bolt Food. This is what it would say to you, tonight:
- Your number, at the moment it matters. Not a report at the end of the month, when the money has gone.
- The second line is yours. You write what you would eat instead while you are calm. It reads it back to you when you are not.
- Order anyway always works. First tap, no timer, no argument. You are not being policed, and some nights you will order. That is fine.
- It counts what you keep. Say not tonight and the money stays yours, along with the hours you did not spend waiting for a courier.
iPhone only. It uses Apple's Screen Time, which means Pockept never sees which app you opened or what you ordered. That is a limit of the system, and it is the reason your spending can stay on your phone.
Worked out from how often you order now, over twelve months. It is what the next year costs as much as what the last one did. Fees are estimated at €3.00 delivery per order, 12% service and a 12.5% tip, waiting at 42 minutes an order, and cooking instead at €4. Your real receipts will differ.
